These cities weren’t built in a day.
Don’t see them in one.
Emperors walked these squares. Music was written here that still moves the world. Monks were pouring wine in these cellars before America even had a name. Every wall carries a story, every cobblestone a footstep from centuries ago.
But a city never opens up from a tour bus. It opens up when you know where to look: the oldest café, the cellar the locals love, the square where the evening light falls just right. We’ll be your eyes, and lead you to the places that matter, at your pace and in your style.
You won’t just see these cities. You’ll feel them breathe.
Same city.
Your way.
Everyone sees the same city on the same tour, with the same umbrella in front of them. We’d rather ask how you like to travel, and plan your days around that.
In the middle of it all, or a quiet street away
A hotel in the pedestrian zone, out in the old town at midnight. Or a calm corner where you sleep with the windows open. Both are perfect, just not for the same person.
All 370 sights, or three good ones
Some want to see everything in 24 hours. Others want one museum, a long lunch and an afternoon nap. We plan whichever one is you.
Churches, cake, or a glass of wine and the people going by
Climb the tower, find the oldest café in town, eat what the locals eat, or simply sit on a square and watch the city walk past.
Tell us how you like to travel. We’ll build the city around you, not the other way round.
Plan my city break With love from the heart of the Alps, Debora
City break · Salzburg
- Breakfast at Café Tomaselli, Austria’s oldest coffee house, since 1700
- The Glockenspiel rings, then a 500-year-old organ roars from the fortress
- Stone mugs and your own picnic at the monks’ brewery, since 1621
Salzburg, played your way.
The salt made it rich, the archbishops made it beautiful, and a boy born at Getreidegasse 9 in 1756 made it immortal. Small enough to walk, deep enough to keep surprising you.
- In the car-free old town or a quiet street away, the right bed for your style
- Every sight in one day, or one long coffee: we plan your pace
- Mozart, the Sound of Music and the original Mozartkugel, made by the Fürst family since 1890
- Tell us your pace

- You live the city

City break · Vienna
- Schönbrunn before the crowds, then the view from the Gloriette
- A grand coffee house, a Fiaker with rum and a slice of Sachertorte
- A concert in the city of Mozart and Strauss, or wine at a Heuriger
Vienna, in three-quarter time.
An empire’s palace, the world’s music and a coffee that takes all afternoon. In the Mirror Room of Schönbrunn, a six-year-old Mozart played for Empress Maria Theresa. Here, the music still plays every single night.
- Inside the Ring or a quiet Biedermeier lane, the right bed for your style
- The State Opera, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein and concerts on every corner
- Coffee houses, the Naschmarkt and Heurigen in Vienna’s own vineyards
- Tell us your pace
- We plan your days
- You live the city
Takes 2 minutes. A real local replies within 24 hours.
City break · Milan
- Cappuccino and brioche at the bar, standing like a true Milanese, at Marchesi, a pastry shop since 1824
- The Duomo rooftop as it opens, walking between marble spires before the crowds
- Aperitivo on the Navigli canals, or a Negroni Sbagliato at Bar Basso, where it was born
Milan, where your journey begins.
Fashion, opera and the best coffee of your life, all in one city. But Milan is also the easiest door into Italy and the Alps. Lake Como in about an hour, Lake Garda in two, the mountains not far behind.
- Three airports (Malpensa, Linate, Bergamo): we tell you which one fits your trip
- Fast trains from Milano Centrale to Venice, Florence, Rome and Switzerland
- The perfect start for the Italian lakes, a road trip to Austria or a grand tour of Europe
- Tell us where you go next

- You start in style

City break · Munich
- The Glockenspiel on Marienplatz: knights, a royal wedding and the coopers’ dance
- Lunch at the Viktualienmarkt, then the river surfers in the English Garden
- A Maß at the Hofbräuhaus, brewing since 1589, with the brass band playing
Munich, the art of taking it easy.
The Bavarian capital wears its crown lightly. Royal palaces, world-class art and a beer culture older than most countries, yet nobody here is in a hurry. Surfers ride a wave in the middle of the city, and every good day ends in a beer garden.
- By Marienplatz or in leafy Schwabing, the right bed for your style
- The Residenz and great museums, or a park bigger than New York’s Central Park
- Oktoberfest, born from a royal wedding in 1810, and FC Bayern at the glowing Allianz Arena
- Tell us your pace
- We plan your days
- You live the city

City break · Ljubljana
- Coffee by the river, then over the Triple Bridge into the old town
- The market, a Carniolan sausage and štruklji, the Slovenian way
- The funicular up to the castle, dinner in the Archer’s Tower
Ljubljana, a capital without the stress.
No traffic in the old town, cafés along a green river, and dragons guarding the bridges. Ljubljana is small, kind and slow in the best way. Here, a city break finally feels like a break.
- Right by the river or a quiet street near Tivoli Park, the right bed for your style
- Plečnik’s bridges, the Dragon Bridge and a boat ride along the Ljubljanica
- Štruklji, potica and the Friday Open Kitchen, the city’s open-air food market
- Tell us your pace
- We plan your days
- You live the city

City break · Budapest
- Fisherman’s Bastion and its seven towers, with Pest across the river
- Dobos torte in a grand old café, where time stopped around 1900
- On the Danube at blue hour, as the Parliament turns to gold
Budapest, Europe’s most breathtaking secret.
Yes, the Parliament is as magnificent as it looks. It rises exactly 96 metres, for the year 896, when the Hungarians first came to this land, and keeps the Holy Crown beneath its dome. It is the pride of a nation that has lived through hard centuries and never lost its dignity.
But it’s only the beginning. Even if you’ve seen Paris, Vienna and Prague, Budapest will still take your breath away.
- Pest by the river or the quiet hills of Buda, the right bed for your style
- Inside the Parliament, with 40 kg of gold leaf: we tell you to book well in advance
- Thermal baths, lángos, Tokaji wine and flat streets made for cycling
- Hot summers, often above 30°C: we plan the river and the baths for the warmest hours
- Tell us your pace
- We plan your days
- You live the city
Takes 2 minutes. A real local replies within 24 hours.
How will you cross Europe?
Two ways in. Every journey inside, planned by locals.
How it
works
Our summer, your way
Six places we’d take our own family, and the little things only locals know about them.
Kitzsteinhorn glacierSnowballs at breakfast, swimming by lunch.
Up to 3,000 metres, snow under your feet in July, then back down to the lake for the afternoon. The kind of day you’ll be telling people about for years.
Grossglockner36 bends, one glacier and a marmot who wants your carrot.
Built by hand in the 1930s, through the toughest years Austria knew. Opened in 1935, and still the most beautiful drive in the Alps.
Krimml WaterfallsYou’ll hear it before you see it.
380 metres of water in three drops, the highest falls in Austria. The trail climbs right beside the falls, close enough to feel the spray on your face.
HallstattSo pretty, China built a copy.
True story. But nothing beats the original: 7,000 years of salt, a lake like a mirror and the Skywalk hanging above it all.
SalzburgMozart, gardens and a hundred terraces.
Baroque squares, Mirabell’s flowers, the fortress on the hill and more cafés than you have days. Sachertorte by the river, Salzburger Nockerl for two. Tradition you can taste.
Food & stayDinner by the lake. Then dessert. Obviously.
Kasnocken in a cast-iron pan, fresh lake fish, a glass of Austrian white as the sun goes down. Hosts who remember your name. This is how we live.
