OUR AUSTRIA.

Small on the map. Endless in every other way.

Austria sits right in the heart of Europe, a short flight or an easy train ride from almost anywhere. And what fits inside it is hard to believe: glaciers and snowy peaks, lakes so clear you can count the stones, vineyards, imperial cities and villages where church bells still set the rhythm of the day. This is the land of Mozart and the waltz, of coffee houses and mountain huts, of Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn and wine poured by the people who made it. Austrians work hard, do things properly and welcome you like family. Everything works, and everything is close.

Whatever you dream of, it’s here. A city break in Vienna or Salzburg, the Austria highlights, the country by train or behind the wheel, a ski safari, the Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbühel, a summer on the lakes or a wedding in the Alps. We live here. We know the quiet valleys, the best tables and the right time to go. You tell us what you love. We sort the rest.

Three Austrian moments

The ones that stay with you.

We know exactly where to find them.

Vienna · all year

The night the curtain rises.

The chandeliers dim, the whole State Opera holds its breath, and the first note fills a hall where music has lived for more than 150 years. Afterwards you step out into the glowing Ringstrasse, still humming the melody. Vienna is palaces and waltzes, coffee houses where time slows down and wine taverns at the edge of the city. We know which seats, which tables and which evenings, so your Vienna feels like it was written just for you.

  • Opera and concert tickets, the right seats
  • The coffee houses and wine taverns locals love
  • A hotel in the heart of the old town

The Alps · winter

Fresh snow. First lift. Endless view.

Here, the mountains simply don’t end. You ride the first lift into a silent white world, peak after peak to the horizon, and the only sound is your skis on fresh snow. Then a sunny hut terrace, a plate of Kaiserschmarrn and the feeling that the whole Alps belong to you. From the Skicircus, where four villages are linked on skis, to quiet valleys only locals know, we plan every ski day around your level, your pace and the snow.

  • Passes, rental and lessons, sorted
  • Hotels close to the lift and the best hut terraces

The Alps · summer

Be there when the mountains wake up.

Stand on a mountain platform as the first light spills over a sea of peaks, the valleys still asleep in the mist below. Summer in Austria is hiking from hut to hut, swimming in lakes so clear you can see your toes and long evenings outside with a glass of local wine. Moments like this don’t fit in a catalogue. We know where to find them, and when.

  • Sunrise spots and hikes for every level
  • Mountain huts, lakes and hidden valleys
  • Every hotel, transfer and lift, sorted

Your questions about Austria

The questions our guests ask most before their first trip to Austria. If yours is not here, just ask us. We live here and love to help.

When is the best time to visit Austria?

Austria is beautiful all year, it just shows you a different side each season. Come from December to March for snow, skiing and cosy mountain villages, and from late November for the Christmas markets. June to September is perfect for lakes, hiking and green mountains. Spring and autumn are calmer and softer, and the cities are lovely any time of year. Tell us what you dream of, and we will tell you honestly when to come.

Which airport should I fly into?

It depends on where your trip begins. Vienna is the main international airport and perfect if you start in the city. Salzburg and Innsbruck bring you closest to the Alps. For many long-haul guests, Munich is a great option too, as it is often easier to reach and only a short drive or train ride from Salzburg. We will help you choose the arrival that makes the rest of your trip easy.

How many days do I need?

Even a few days can be wonderful, but Austria really opens up when you give it time. One week is lovely for a city and the mountains. Ten days to two weeks lets you combine cities, lakes and the Alps without rushing. We always plan around the time you have, so every day feels full but never stressful.

Should I travel by train or by car?

Both work beautifully, and often a mix is best. Austria’s trains are comfortable and scenic, ideal between cities like Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck. A car gives you freedom in the mountains and around the lakes, where the small villages and hidden viewpoints are. We will suggest what fits your route and how you like to travel.

Can I combine cities and mountains in one trip?

Yes, and we highly recommend it. Austria is small, so you can enjoy imperial Vienna, Mozart’s Salzburg, the lakes of Hallstatt and a few days in the Alps in one journey. We put it all in the right order, so it flows naturally from one place to the next.

Is Austria nice in winter if I don’t ski?

Absolutely. Many of our winter guests never touch a pair of skis. Think snowy walks, horse-drawn sleigh rides, warm spas, mountain huts with a view, Christmas markets and cosy evenings in the villages. We plan beautiful winter days for everyone, skiers and non-skiers alike.

Can I add neighbouring countries?

Of course. Austria sits right in the heart of Europe. Munich and the fairy tale castle of Neuschwanstein, the Dolomites in Italy, Slovenia, Budapest or even Venice are all within easy reach. We connect them into one smooth journey, by train, by car or both.

Do I need to speak German?

Not at all. English is widely spoken in hotels, restaurants and tourist areas. But a friendly “Grüß Gott” (hello) or “Danke” (thank you) always brings a smile.

Is Austria expensive?

Austria can fit many budgets. Ski resorts in high season and the most famous places cost more, but a cosy family-run guesthouse or a lunch at a mountain hut can be wonderful value. Tell us your budget openly, and we will plan the best trip for it, with no surprises.

How much does your planning cost?

Our planning fee depends on what you need. Planning for a single destination starts from €79, and journeys across several countries start from €279. Before we begin, you receive one clear fixed fee from us, so you know exactly what the planning service will cost. No hidden planning charges.
