The Kitzsteinhorn glacier takes you up to 3,029 metres, skiable long before — and long after — the season closes everywhere else. The 3K K-onnection gondola crosses straight from the Kaprun valley to the glacier in one ride, no queueing between lifts. Back on the Schmitten side, Zell am See’s own local mountain adds wide, sunny pistes with the lake laid out below every run.

Lake Zell is glacier-fed, genuinely swimmable, and ringed by a flat cycling and walking path that makes it easy to see the whole thing without a single steep climb.
