WHY EASTER IS ONE OF THE BEST TIMES TO SKI

Easter skiing in Saalbach Hinterglemm is one of the best times to ski in Austria. There’s something about this time of year — the temperatures drop slightly, the light feels different, and more often than not, you get a fresh layer of snow just when you need it.

A perfect spring ski day starts early. You take one of the first lifts, step onto freshly groomed pistes, and for a couple of runs, it feels like you have the mountain to yourself. As the day goes on, the snow softens just enough, giving you that smooth, floating feeling — effortless turns, run after run.

It’s one of those moments where everything simply clicks.

QUIET SLOPES, BETTER SKIING

One of the biggest advantages of Easter skiing in Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang is how quiet it feels. As one of Austria’s leading ski resorts, it offers wide slopes, excellent lift connections, and reliable spring skiing conditions — without the pressure of peak season.

No long lift queues.
No rush.
No pressure to get on the next chair as quickly as possible.

It’s a more relaxed, more enjoyable rhythm — and it actually improves the skiing. The slopes stay in better condition for longer, even on warmer days.

The best approach? Make the most of the morning, enjoy a long, relaxed lunch on the mountain, and ease into a bit of après-ski later in the day.

That’s where Easter skiing really comes into its own.

A WEEKEND THAT HAD IT ALL

Friday, 28th March, delivered properly — a fresh dump of snow that set everything up perfectly.

Saturday completely changed the mood and brought bright sunshine. Picked up a pair of Stöckli all-mountain skis from the Snow Academy and spend the day skiing with the family — no queues, perfect conditions, and just a great time together on the mountain.

Sunday brought snow again. Visibility wasn’t great, but it didn’t matter. When the snow is that good, you don’t need to see that far.

My son was out on his snowboard all day, finding fresh lines again and again — even in the afternoon.

That’s the beauty of it.

For us, Easter has become one of our favourite times to ski. You get the best of both worlds — winter snow conditions combined with longer days, sunshine, and a much more relaxed atmosphere across the resort.

It’s easy, enjoyable, and simply works.
